Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What age groups do you tutor?
I specialise in tutoring primary school children, particularly those in Upper Key Stage 2 preparing for SATs and transitioning to high school.

2. How do online tutoring sessions work?
Sessions take place via a secure online platform. Your child will receive a link to join a live, interactive lesson, where I use a virtual whiteboard and other tools to make learning engaging and effective.

3. How long are the sessions?
Each session lasts 50 minutes, which is the optimal length for focus and learning retention while keeping engagement high.
4. How many children are in each group session?
Group sessions have a maximum of 5 students, ensuring each child gets personal attention while benefiting from collaborative learning.

5. How much does tutoring cost?
Our launch price is currently £23 per child per session, or £85 every 4 weeks when booked as a block.

6. Do you offer one-to-one tutoring?
At present, I only offer group tutoring, as I believe this provides a cost-effective, engaging, and supportive environment for students.
7. What happens if my child misses a session?
Sessions are recorded so I will email you a recording of the session! Missed sessions are non-refundable, similar to other extracurricular activities. However, I offer free drop-in sessions during school holidays where students can ask any questions they may have.

8. How do I book sessions?
A payment link will be sent once I have received your information and parents/carers can pay weekly or every 4 week at a discounted rate Payments are made in advance to secure a place.

9. Do you offer trial sessions?
I don’t currently offer trial sessions. However, if you are not satisfied after the first session then please contact me within 24 hours and I will provide a full refund. I do provide a free SATs preparation guide to give parents and students an insight into my approach as well as posting videos on social media.

10. Do you use concrete resources in your lessons?
In Upper KS2, students typically transition away from concrete resources, as they are not allowed in SATs. Instead, I use pictorial and abstract methods to support understanding. These approaches help students bridge the gap between hands-on learning and independent problem-solving, ensuring they are fully prepared for their exams.

10. How can I contact you if I have more questions?
You can reach out via email or the contact form on my website. I aim to respond within 24 hours Monday to Friday.
